Founded in 1899 in Nishi-ku, Osaka, Katsura Roller Mfg.Co., Ltd. has grown over a century.
In today’s rapidly changing environment, including the dramatic development of new technologies and the diversification of information media, we believe our responsibilities are to respond accurately to the new demands of the times and the true needs of our customers.
We have contributed to the industry as a pioneer of Japan’s printing rubber rollers after developing SK rubber roller (patented) in 1923.
Since then, we have devoted all of our passion to the development of original technologies and products. Its originality has given rise to a reputation in the industry as “Katsura technology”.
In the film field, which has become increasingly sophisticated in recent years, our products have been highly reputed both domestically and overseas, and the weight of our research and development, technological innovation, and capital investment has also shifted significantly to such fields.
We will contribute to society by constantly designing, developing, manufacturing, and supplying products that are friendly to people and the global environment, while naturally improving the performance of our rollers.
We are also actively expanding into overseas to meet the customer’s needs outside of Japan.
In order to deliver finely tuned services at any time near our customers, we have formed alliances with rolling manufacturers in major countries to respond locally.

Basic Philosophy
Katsura Roller Mfg.Co., Ltd. is committed to environment-friendly businesses in development, design, manufacture,
and sales of human & environmentally-friendly products through the ever-changing needs of the clients.
We have established basic environmental policies for corporate operations, so as to contribute to the conservation and beneficial changes of earth environment.
Basic Environmental Policies
- We will establish the environmental management system and make improvements continuously.
- We will comply with the environmental laws & regulations and requirements from the stake holders.
- We will prevent environmental contamination and reduce the risk of occupational health and safety.

History of Katsura

1899
April
Asajiro Katsura established Katsura’s first work shop for manufacture of lithographic printing rollers in Osaka.

1923
September
Shozo Katsura developed SK-system rubber roller (patented) and contributed to the industry as a pioneer of printing rubber rollers.

1950
February
The company name changed to Katsura Roller Mfg. Co., Ltd., having Asazo Katsura as a President.

1972
October
Shiga Katsura Co., Ltd. (later became Shiga factory) was established.

1976
November
Tokyo Katsura Co., Ltd. Chiba factory (later became Chiba factory) was established.

1986
October
KR Trading Co., Ltd.(later became Overseas department) was established.

1991
August
Kyusyu Katsura Co., Ltd. (later became Kyushu factory) was established.
Katsura Korea was established as a joint venture of Tokyo Katsura Co., Ltd. and Taichang Engineering Co., Ltd.

1998
June
The 100th foundation year & the 50th establishment anniversary commemoration ceremony was held. The commemorative publication, “The Hundred Year History” was completed.

Established GRTG (Global Roller Technologies Group) with Mitex/Germany and RotaDyne/USA.

Rewarded “Outstanding Performance Company prize” in 40th Good Company Award.

Katsura Roller Mfg. Co., Ltd. absorbed and merged all Katsura group companies.
